<br />1V. In making the foregoing provision for my children I have in mind their .present circumstanc4s
<br />and needs, and if at any time or times during the continuance of this trust, any of my chil-
<br />dren (or my grandchildren after their parent's death) shall need, by reason of any change in
<br />circumstances, a greater provision for their comfortable support, I authorize the trustees
<br />who may then have the administration of this trust, to make such further payments to any child
<br />or :rand child who may it, the income,
<br />need out of or if necessary out of the principal, of said
<br />trust fund as they my said trustees, may think proper, committing this wholly to the sole
<br />discretion of my said trustees, and intending that suitable provision be made by-,Such payments

<br />the aforesaid Doane College, and that this trust be then terminated; the fund so paid over to bd
<br />held by Doane College as a permanent fund, to be called the Doane Fund, the income thereof, as it:
<br />may accrue to be applied to the general uses of the college.
<br />Vl. I give to my said trus -tees and their successors full power and authority to sell and
<br />dispose of all or any part of the trust property and estate in fee simple or for any less estate,(
<br />at such times, and upon such terms, as may to them seen: expedient without the necessity of

<br />applying to any court, and no purchaser need see to the application,jany part of the purchase

<br />money; provided however that the said estate, No. 8, Pearl Stareet shall not be in any way j
<br />disposed of so long as my wife lives and remains my widow without her consent; and the said
<br />trustees shall invest, and from time to time in their discretion reinvest, the said trust fund

<br />and the proceeds of any property disposed of: It is my will that any part of my estate which
<br />yields little or no income and which cannot be reasonably expected to increase in value shall
<br />be sold as favorable opportunities occur, in order that a safe and remunerative investment may l

<br />made; and I suggest, for the investment of the trust fund, bonds, bank stock and especially
<br />real estate and real estate mortgages, but I direct that not more than one tenth of the total
<br />a -mount of said trust property and funds shall be invested in any one security or estate, and
<br />further direct that great regard be always had for the security of the principal of the fund.
<br />If my trustees shall, at any time, in the proper administration of their trust, buy, or other-

<br />wise acquire or hold any terminable securities the market price or value of which is then
<br />i
<br />at a premium above the par value thereof, I authorize and empower my said trustees, if they
<br />i
<br />deem it 'Prise so to do, to treat the entire income or revenue arising from such securities as
<br />income for the purposes of the trust, without the necessity of retaining a part of such income
<br />to provide for a subsequent diminution of the market price or actual value.
<br />The dividends received from the South Platte Land Company are to be treated as principal
<br />not income.

<br />Vll. I appoint David B. Perry, my son in law; .john Doane, my son, and Henry B. Twombly, my
<br />son -in -law, to be the trustees under this my will. I direct that the number of trustees be
<br />always kept at three and whenever any vacancy occurs the same shall be filled by the Probate
<br />j
<br />Court for Suffolk County aforesaid, upon the nomination of the remaining trustees, and I give
<br />to all succeeding trustees all the powers herein conferred upon those named herein. j
<br />I .direct that full and accurate accounts be kept with great care of all the business of the
<br />trust, and that the proper probate accounts be scrupulously filed each year.
