<br /> An Ordinance changing the name of Home Avenue in the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, to Crand Island
<br /> Avenue. , -
<br /> WHEREAS, Home Avenue, originally shown on the official map of the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, extends
<br /> from t" �:: 13th Street to State Street on the east side of what is knawn as Lot 'i�ro Hundred Seventy-seven
<br /> (277), in West La.wn, an Addition to the City of Grand Island, Nebraska., and then continuesnorth ther��'roun
<br /> on the east side of the street only, from State Street to Waugh street and then continues north for the full
<br /> width of the street fram Waugh Street to College Street, and
<br /> WHEREAS, Because of its close pro7�.3mity to (i�and Island Avenue the name of Home Avenue has long since
<br /> been lost sight of and said Home Avenue has been called Grand Island ; Avenue, and
<br /> � WHEREAS, in order to avoid the confusion that exists concerning the name of Home A�►enue, the name
<br /> shoa�id be changed to Grand Island Avenue.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL Of the City of Grand Island, Nebraska;
<br /> SECTION 1. That Home Avenue, as originally laid aut, platted and shawn on the official map of the City
<br /> of Grand Island, Nebraska., shall from and after the taking effect of this ordinance be knawn ac�d designated
<br /> as Grand Island Avenue.
<br /> SECTION 2. That the City Engineer be, and he is hereby authorized� ordered and directed to change the
<br /> name of said street as herein provided on the official map of the Citp of Grand Island, Nebraska, and further, that
<br /> said City Engineer identify said street by erecting thereon street signs shawing the narae of Grand Island
<br /> Avenue.
<br /> SECTION 3. That certified copies of this ordinance� be, and they are hereby ordered furnished to the
<br /> Police and Fire Departments, to the Citq Engineer, and to the Co�miissioner of the Departmeirt of Utilities
<br /> Administration.
<br /> SECT��ON 4. That a certified copy of this ordinance be fon,�arded to the Postmaster of the Citp of Grand
<br /> Island, and that a copy thereof be, and the smm e is herebp ordered filed in the office of the Register of
<br /> Deeds of Hall County, Nebraska.
<br /> SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be �.n force and take effect from and after its passage, approval and
<br /> publication as bp law provided. •
<br /> Passed and approved by a majority vote of the members of the Gity Cauncil, this the 23rd dap of July,
<br /> 1952.
