<br />11. DISCUSS AND APPROVE RESOLUTION TO UPGRADE HIGHWAY #30: The Hall <br />County Board received a letter from the Merrick County Supervisors seeking support for <br />this project. Jeffries made a motion and Landis seconded to approve Resolution #00- <br />0043 for the upgrade to Highway #30. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis. <br />Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried <br /> <br />F20000217 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #00- DO 4 3 <br /> <br />~. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Nebraska Department of Roads has eva}.uated and selected certain' <br />highways to be widened to four lanes in order to provide incre;ised access to population centers <br />and agricultural and industrial areas; and ~ . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a significant increase in traffic volume and vehicle accidents on U.S. <br />Highway 30 between Columbus and Grand Island, Nebraska has created the need for <br />improvements that enhance safety and meet the transportation demands resulting from projected <br />future population growth; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the safe and efficient flow of manufacturing and agricultural commodities <br />on U.S. Highway 30 is a decisive factor in the location of new business and industry that <br />promotes overall economic growth. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Hall County Board of Supervisors <br />urges the Nebraska Highway Commission and the Nebraska Department of Roads to upgrade <br />U.S. Highway 30 to a four-lane divided expressway between Columbus and Grand Island, <br />Nebraska. <br /> <br />Resolution moved by Mt'i ~ .::TE'~\~e~ <br /> <br />Seconded by ~ t1 r~ fA rQ ~ k ~ ~S <br /> <br />Vote: <br />Scott Arnold: <br />Richard Hartman: <br />W.P.
