<br />fOt666 <br /> <br />11 DISCUSSION ON SETTING PUBLIC HEARING FOR E-911 SURCHARGE Arnold <br />stated that this matter was discussed before and there was not enough time to advertise <br />for the public hearing, so he wants to address this now. Arnold made a motion and <br />Lancaster seconded to set the public hearing for December 18, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. <br />Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and <br />none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />19 DISCUSS AND RESPOND TO REQUEST FOR TREES AT LUZENAC - Logan <br />stated that the County Board received a letter requesting to remove trees from the <br />Luzenac property that the county recently purchased. Discussion was held and Logan <br />made a motion and Jeffries seconded to direct Stacey Ruzicka to send a letter stating <br />that the county is not interested in removing the trees at this time. Arnold, Eriksen, <br />Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Logan all voted yes and none voted no with Hartman <br />absent for the vote. Motion carried. <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT - Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka stated that the <br />progress report were included in the packets and she reminded the board members of <br />the computer committee meeting and the Senior Citizens meeting. She stated that the <br />invitation to bid cards for the sale of the land at the Cornhusker Army plant are a good <br />idea. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS - Logan stated he attend the safety committee meeting, <br />and the juvenile committee meeting. He attended two merit commission meetings. <br /> <br />Jeffries - He attended the conditional use committee meeting and the building and <br />grounds committee meeting. He reported that the committee is working on redoing the <br />contract with Mid Plains. <br /> <br />Lancaster - She attended the Midland Area Agency on Aging meeting and the board <br />met the new director Carla Kocher. She also reported that she is finishing up with Head <br />Start. <br /> <br />Eriksen - He attended the safety committee meeting and met with Betty Curtis along <br />with the RC&D staff to review the used oil collection. They will consider the proposal on <br />the used oil collection. He also attended the interviews at the corrections department. <br />The Health Board met and they still need space for programs and since the space in the <br />attorney's building will not be available for one year they may need to look at temporary <br />space for some programs. <br /> <br />Humiston - No report. <br /> <br />Arnold - He attended the Stuhr Museum meeting and the juvenile services committee <br />meeting. He worked on juvenile grant with Troy Chandler and they will be attending the <br />training. Mid Plains has already sent two people to the training. <br /> <br />Hartman - He stated that his meetings have been reported on. <br /> <br />NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS - Chairman Hartman called for new or unfinished <br />business and no one responded. <br /> <br />8 <br />
