<br />.-/ <br />P0354~ <br /> <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY - Lancaster stated that he did not have any items on the agenda. <br /> <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no <br />one responded. <br /> <br />4 SAFETY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION - a. DISCUSS & APPROVE <br />AMENDMENTS TO EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN - Robin Hassel, Safety Coordinator <br />was present and stated that the safety committee has reviewed these policies. They <br />include the following: <br />Procedure for: Suspicious Unattended Package <br />Procedure for: Suspicious Delivered Package <br />Procedure for: Suspected Bio-Hazard Inside the Facility <br />Procedure for: Suspected Bio-Hazard Outside of the Facility <br />Procedure for: Medical Emergency <br />Procedure for: Responding Terroristic Threat <br />Ms. Hassel stated that these policies would be added to the Emergency Action Plan. <br />Eriksen made a motion and Rye seconded to approve the amendments and add them to <br />the plan. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffris, Lancaster and Rye all voted yes <br />and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4b. DISCUSS AND APPROVE JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS - Jason Clancy, Loss Control <br />Manager with NIRMA has suggested that all safety committee's add this to the loss <br />control manual. Each employee will receive a copy and sign off on it and it will be added <br />to the employee handbook for each new employee. Eriksen made a motion and Rye <br />seconded to approve the job safety analysis and all employees receive a copy. Arnold, <br />Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted yes and none voted <br />no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4c DISCUSS & APPROVE EXPENDITURE OF INHERITANCE FUNDS FOR SAFETY <br />RELATED EXPENSE - The safety committee is requesting to add panic buttons to the <br />new county attorney building. Three buttons that were in the child support office in the <br />administration building will be moved to the attorney's office building and the cost to <br />install the buttons will be $1,536.75. The committee is requesting to pay for this from the <br />safety line item in the inheritance fund. The button will be installed in the two reception <br />areas on the main floor and one in the back hallway on the main floor. Hartman made a <br />motion and Eriksen seconded to approve the expenditure of $1,536.75 from the <br />inheritance fund for the installation of the panic buttons. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, <br />Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5.a PUBLIC WORKS RECOMMENDATION ON CLOSING A PORTION OF WISEMAN ROAD <br />AND LOUP RIVER ROAD - County Surveyor Dan Hostler was present and stated that h <br />recommends to vacate the section of Wiseman Road. All of the landowners are in favor. He also <br />recommended that the right-of-way revert back to the adjacent landowners. A resolution has <br />been prepared to set the public hearing and the board will need to approve this. It will need to be <br />published for three consecutive weeks and the landowners will need to be notified. Jeffries <br />questioned if it was necessary to have more signatures on the petition that was submitted to the <br />board but Hostler stated that, according to County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz, there is another <br />statute that address this and the petition that was submitted will be sufficient. Jeffries made a <br />motion and Eriksen seconded to approve Resolution #03-0067 a resolution setting a public <br />hearing on the proposed vacation of a public road. The public hearing will be September 23, <br />2003 at 10:00 a.m. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted <br />yes and none voted no.
