<br />0) '1 t::' 24 <br />r \lJu...JI,..,I_ <br /> <br />The supervisors took a short break so the Public Works Committee could meet to review <br />the bids and come back with a recommendation. <br /> <br />Jeffries stated that the Public Works Committee met with Dan Hostler and County <br />Engineer Jeff Palik and reviewed the bids and recommended awarding the bid to Gary <br />Smith Construction. Jeffries made a motion and Arnold seconded to accept the bid from <br />Gary Smith Construction in the amount of $41,508.88.00. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, <br />Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT - Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka reminded them of <br />the scheduled meetings for the coming weeks. <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS - Hartman - no report <br /> <br />Humiston - no report <br />Eriksen - He attended the local Emergency Planning Committee, Health Board with <br />topic regarding bio terrisiom and West Nile virus, CAAP meetings regarding the clean up <br />of line #2 which will be burned August 13th and the money that has been allocated for <br />future clean up of bomb lines. Airport dedication for the Apache Helicopter site, and met <br />with the Economic Development Committee for our district <br /> <br />Rye - no report <br /> <br />Arnold - no report <br /> <br />Jeffries - no report <br /> <br />Lancaster - She attended the airport dedication for the Apache Helicopter site, and meet <br />with the Senior Citizens industries regarding remodeling of the facilities. <br /> <br />NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS - Chairman Lancaster called for new or unfinished <br />business and no one responded. <br /> <br />Meeting recessed until 9:00 a.m. August 14, 2003. <br /> <br />Meeting was resumed on August 14, 2003 at 9:05 a.m. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER- The meeting was called to order Chairman Pamela Lancaster <br /> <br />ROLL CALL - Present on roll call was Scott Arnold, Jim Eriksen, Dick Hartman, Bob <br />Humiston, Bud Jeffries, Pamela Lancaster, and Robert Rye. Also present were news <br />media representatives from the Grand Island Independent and KRGI. <br /> <br />There was some discrepancy on why there was a shortage of dirt for the project. <br /> <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and <br />David Plond a Scout Executive for the Overland Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of <br />America. He requested that he parcel of land prior to the South Locust project was <br />leased by the boy scouts. They had given up the rights to purchase the land as a way to <br />further the interchange project for the development of the South Locust project. There <br />had been talk of clearing the trees on the 30 acres adjacent to the camp and this was of <br /> <br />12 <br />
