<br />r 03/1':;;0 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #03- 00 L\:~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION PROHIBITING THE USE OF ENGINE BRAKES <br />ON AIRPORT ROAD BETWEEN <br />U.S. HIGHWAY 281 AND ST. PAUL ROAD <br /> <br />WHEREAS, residential areas are located along or in close proximity to Airport Road <br /> <br />Between U. S. Highway 281 and St. Paul Road; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the aforesaid roads are utilized by a large number of trucks; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the use of engine brakes, otherwise known as "Jake Brakes" on the <br /> <br />aforesaid roads constitute a nuisance to the inhabitants of residential areas along and in close <br /> <br />proximity to the aforesaid road. <br /> <br />NOW BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. ENGINE BRAKES PROHIBITED. The use of engine brakes, also known as "Jake <br /> <br />Brakes" is prohibited when operating a motor vehicle on the following county roads, to wit: <br /> <br />Airport Road between U. S. Highway 281 and 81. Paul Road. <br /> <br />Section 2. SIGNS. This resolution shall be come effective upon the erection of traffic control <br /> <br />Devices or signs giving notice of such regulation upon or at the entrances to the affected roads <br /> <br />or parts thereof affected as may be most appropriate. The Hall County Public Works Department <br /> <br />is directed to erect all such traffic control devices or signs as required. <br /> <br />Section 3. PENALTY. As provided by Neb. Rev.Stat. 60-682, as amended, violation of this <br /> <br />Resolution shall constitute a traffic infraction. <br />
