<br />f'03383 <br /> <br />8 SET TIME FOR FORMAL HEARINGS FOR BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETINGS - The <br />formal hearing for the board of equalization meetings are set for July 14, 15 and 16 and the <br />times need to be set. Discussion was held. Jeffries made a motion and Arnold seconded to set <br />the time as follows: <br />July 14 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. <br />July 15 1 :00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. <br />July 16 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. <br />Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted yes and none stated <br />on. Motion carried. <br /> <br />9 DISCUSS AND APPROVE AIR SERVICE TASK FORCE STATEMENT - Lancaster stated <br />that the air service task force was set up to work on improve air service to the Hall County <br />Airport. Some of the members were Doyle Hulme, Harold Rosenkotter, Jay Vavricek, Pamela <br />Lancaster, Virgil Eihusen, Wayne Sasge, Kim Cauldwell, Gary Hedman, Jeff Kelly, Curtis <br />Griess, Bill Stovall, Ed O'Boyle, Gary Rossacker, Mike Toukan and Mike Gloor. The group <br />talked to airlines and they wanted the county to come to them with what the priorities would be. <br />She read the following statement: <br />1. Preferred air service as provided from the Central Nebraska Regional Airport must include <br />flights traveling both east and west. Westbound nonstop service to Denver is preferred. <br />Eastbound nonstop to Omaha is preferred, however optional service while not the first <br />choice, could be provided through Kansas City or St. Louis. <br />2. The preferred aircraft servicing these flights would be regional jets. <br />3. Airfares must be reasonable and/or co-shared with other airlines servicing both east and <br />westbound connections. <br />4. Schedules must include a minimum of two flights both East and West daily <br />5. The airline selected must be financially stable, have a credible safety record, a history of <br />quality customer service, and have a recorded history of reliable on-time departures and <br />arrivals. <br />Jeffries made a motion and Arnold seconded to support this air service development <br />statement. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and Rye all voted yes and <br />none stated on. Motion carried. <br /> <br />610:30 A.M. MIDLAND AREA AGENCY ON AGING BUDGET REQUEST - Carla Kocher <br />executive director of MAAA and Lois Stienke with Senior Citizens were present. Ms Kocher <br />thanked Pam, Scott and Bob Rye for serving on the MAAA Board. She also introduced Kathy <br />Marvel who is doing a two-week internship with their agency. The Mission of Midland Area <br />Agency on Aging is to help older adults to remain independent. MAAA services eight counties <br />with 25,000 over 60 adults. They are asking for support for the program again this year and the <br />request is the same. The membership fee is $6,161.00 and the funding request is $17,250.00 <br />for this fiscal year with a total of $23,411.00. <br /> <br />Hartman made a motion and Jeffries seconded to approve the funding request for Midland Area <br />Agency on Aging for $23,400.00. Arnold, Eriksen, Hartman, Humiston, Jeffries, Lancaster and <br />Rye all voted yes and none stated on. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The services that the counties receive are well worth the financial support. Arnold stated that a <br />large part of the function of the agency is to save money and keep people independent. <br /> <br />6 <br />
