HALL COUNTYBOARD OF CORRECTIONS MEETING SEPTEMBER 8, 2026 <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go into a Board of Corrections <br /> meeting with a roll call vote. <br /> Present on roll call were Butch Hurst, Pam Lancaster, Ron Peterson, Gary Quandt, <br /> Jane Richardson and Scott Sorensen. Karen Bredthauer was absent. Also, present <br /> were Kim Dugan Board Assistant, Corrections Director Todd Bahensky and County <br /> Attorney Marty Klein. <br /> NOTICE OF MEETING LAW-Chair Peterson read the notice of open meeting law <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION-The affidavit of publication was received. <br /> MINUTES OF THE MEETING- Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to <br /> approve the minutes of August 11, 2026, meeting, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes, no one voted no. Bredthauer was absent. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION-Chair Peterson called for public participation, and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 3. CORRECTIONS DIRECTORS REPORT-Todd Bahensky stated that their numbers <br /> are at 237 US Marshall are at 70, 14 probation sanction, 2 bond revocations, 15 ICE 1 <br /> out of county and 150 locals. He noted that the US Marshall and ICE are at 85 and that <br /> is low, but they are moving them in and out frequently. <br /> UPDATE ON REYNOLDS GRANT FOR BODY CAMERAS - Todd stated they applies <br /> for the Reynolds grant it was approved and they sent a check. He read the public <br /> announcement regarding the grant. They fully funded the request for $17,105.68 this <br /> will supply 18 body cameras and 2 additional cameras that can be used for the critical <br /> incident team. They appreciate the partnership. <br /> UPDATE ON BUILDING REPAIRS —Todd reported some of the following issues. <br /> • The fire sprinkler system needs to have the sprinkler heads replaced every 10 <br /> years and they need to be addressed <br /> • The sewer pipe in the back of the building collapsed and had to be repaired they <br /> were able to break up concrete and do some of the work plumber cost is <br /> $5,000.00 plus some miscellaneous expenses <br /> • Replaced a water heater that is 10 years old <br /> • There is an issue with sewer gas in one area <br /> Todd explained that there is an area where there is a constant smell of sewer gas. They <br /> opened the access panels and checked the vents and there were cracks in the vent <br />
