RESOLUTION#26-0 I& <br /> A RESOLUTION FORMALIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF JOSHUA BERLIE TO FILL THE VACANCY <br /> OF THE HALL COUNTY SHERIFF DUE TO SHERIFF RICK CONRAD'S RETIREMENT. <br /> WHEREAS,on October 21, 2025 Sheriff Rick Conrad,the duly elected Hall County Sheriff, <br /> notified the Hall County Board of Commissioners that he intended to resign his elected office as Hall <br /> County Sheriff,with his last day in office having been December 22, 2025; and <br /> WHEREAS the Hall County Board of Commissioners wished to appoint a law enforcement <br /> officer qualified pursuant to Neb.Rev.Stat. § 23-1701.01 to the office of Hall County Sheriff to replace <br /> Sheriff Conrad; <br /> WHEREAS the appointed Hall County Sheriff will provide duties and comply with the terms and <br /> conditions as listed in Neb.Rev.Stat. §§23-1701 through 23-1736; and <br /> WHEREAS the Hall County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on October 21, 2025 to <br /> appoint Joshua Berlie to serve the remainder of Sheriff Conrad's term of elected office,said term ending <br /> on January 6, 2027; and <br /> WHEREAS,Joshua Berlie has been serving as Hall County Sheriff since December 23, 2025 and <br /> acting in good faith therein;and <br /> WHEREAS,Sheriff Berlie has been, since assuming office on December 23,2025,and will <br /> continue to receive financial compensation as a salary in the amount of$5,042.53 per pay period, uniform <br /> allowance of$55.39 per pay period, and benefits afforded to other Hall County employees (including, but <br /> not limited to access to single or family health insurance,dental insurance,vision insurance,healthcare <br /> flexible spending plan, dependent childcare flexible spending plan,county retirement match up to 4.5%, <br /> and law retirement plan match up to 2%. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Hall County Board of Commissioners ratifies, <br /> after the fact,the action it took on October 21, 2025 appointing Joshua Berlie as Hall County Sheriff <br /> effective December 23,2025 through January 6, 2027.
