BOARD MEMBER'S OR COMMITTEE REPORTS — Bredthauer reported that they are
still working on the College Paark issues and the State Auditor said they can only go
back 5 years for the reimbursements but still working on an agreement.
She also reported she attended the NACO workshop and there was a lot of information.
The new legislation will go into effect on July 18, 2026. She noted LB663 regarding the
conditional use permits. Chad Nabity provided the board with some information and
there will be a NACO study group regarding this bill there needs to be some issues
addressed for the next legislative session it need to be cleaned up. She read an email
from Lincoln County Commissioner regarding the data centers and encouraged the
County board to look at this and consider adopting a similar resolution. She noted that
according to LB 663 the county needs to have guide lines in our comprehensive plan
regarding conditional use permits. She also noted LB 1261 also need to be considered
and how it addresses the height of towers.
Lancaster said the county needs to be proactive and address this before July 18tn
Sorensen said he attended a meeting of the Grand Island transit. Crane ridership is up
and 150 riders was a high month. He said that the county public hearing will be June
30, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. it will be interesting who turns out at the meeting. He noted that
the Hall County transit drivers have been handing out flyers. He reported that MAAA is
also facing cuts. Their cost per ride is $60.00 to $65.00 Hall County cost is at $147.00.
There will be 90 days form the boards point of action before anything will change.
Lancaster reported she attended Grow Grand Island and they are applying for the 2026
"All American City" and will make a presentation at the end of June. They also
discussed the good life district.
Lancaster also addressed the health insurance and noted we are now under a new
company. One concern is regarding our prescription coverage. Some drugs are
developed for one purpose but then it is found that they have far reaching health
advantages. Insurance companies approve formulary drugs for a certain use but there
needs to be a way people cand receive the drugs for other reasons. It is important to
get good pharmaceutical coverage without having to bring it to the county board for
approval every time. It is important for Hall County to have an advocate for our health
insurance. Peterson noted that the county needs to look at hiring a broker. We need to
look at this in our budget there may be a cost but it is important the we have good
health coverage.
NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS — Chair Peterson called for new or unfinished
business and no one responded. Meeting adjourned at 11:00 a.m.
gALj ft►r
Marla J. Conley Hall County Clerk1)?&1144
K
11
"11 ,„, RASSQ,=
