HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATIO MEETING June 2, 2026 <br /> 9:05 A.M. Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go into a Board of Equalization <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL-Present on roll call were Karen Bredthauer, Butch Hurst, Pam Lancaster, Ron <br /> Peterson, Gary Quandt, Jane Richardson and Scott Sorensen were present. Also present <br /> were County Attorney Marty Klein and Board Assistant Kim Dugan. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW- Chair Peterson read the notice of open meeting law. <br /> REQUEST TO RESERVE TIME-Chair Peterson called for anyone from the audience if anyone <br /> had a request to reserve time and no one responded. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION-The affidavit of publication was received. <br /> MINUTES- Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the minutes of the May <br /> 19, 2026, meeting. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Quandt, Richardson and Sorensen <br /> all voted yes, and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION-Chair Peterson called for public participation, and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 4.COUNTY TREASURER DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE EXEMPTION <br /> APPLICATIONS FOR <br /> a) CENTRAL NEBRASKA LUTHERAN SCHOOL, 212 W 12TH STREET, GRAND ISLAND <br /> FOR A 2017 CHEVROLET VAN AND A 2014 CHEVROLET BUS <br /> Deputy County Treasurer Stacy Sliva read the exemption application for Central Nebraska <br /> Lutheran School for a 2017 Chevrolet van, and a 2014 Chevrolet bus these vehicles are used <br /> for transporting school students and employees for activities <br /> b) THE SALVATION ARMY, 818 W 3RD, GRAND ISLAND FORA 2015 FORD T350 <br /> This exemption is for a 2015 Ford T350 to be used for camp, food pickups, bread pickups and <br /> bank rums. <br /> County Treasurer Alaina Verplank has approved these exemptions as per Nebraska State <br /> Statute 77-202 and is requesting a motion from the board to approve. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the exemption applications for <br /> Central Nebraska Lutheran School for the 2017 van and the 2014 Chevrolet bus and for The <br /> Salvation Army for a 2015 Ford T350. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Quandt, and <br /> Sorensen all voted yes, and no one voted no. Richardson abstained.
