CORRECTIONS DIRECTORS REPORT-Todd Bahensky stated that their numbers
are at 234, US Marshall are at 88, 11 ICE, 134 local inmates, 1 from other counties, 14
probation sanctions.
Todd updated the board on the chiller project. They are scheduled to pour the cement
pad for the new chiller March 30, April 8, the new chiller unit is scheduled to ship, and
they will be installing the piping. It is scheduled to arrive April 13. They will start the first
chiller up May 4 and finish the installation of second chiller May 18. They poured the
new pad in a different location so they would be able to use the old chiller until the new
one was installed and finish the project.
The pre-bid conference was held for the HVAC project and there were 11 different
people that attended they were representing 4 or 5 different potential bidders. Todd
noted there could be multiple bidders. He talked to Gregg and he was expecting
between 2 and 4 bidders. The bids are scheduled to be opened March 24 at the next
regular meeting.
He also reported that there was leak in the fire suppression system at 4:00 on Friday. It
was in the female minimum-security unit so they had to shut down the entire fire
suppression system and get it repaired. The leak was in the bathroom area, so it was
drywall that had to be removed instead of concrete. They were able to get to the area
that was leaking and get it fixed. This is another indication that some of the systems are
getting old. There is no way to know when these things might happen.
