HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING FEBRUARY 24, 2026 <br /> 9:05 A.M. Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL-Present on roll call were Karen Bredthauer, Butch Hurst, Pam Lancaster, <br /> Ron Peterson, Gary Quandt, Jane Richardson and Scott Sorensen. Also present were <br /> Board Assistant Kim Dugan, Kristi Wold County Assessor and County Treasurer Alaina <br /> Verplank. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW- Chair Peterson read the notice of open meeting <br /> law. <br /> REQUEST TO RESERVE TIME — Chair Peterson called for anyone regarding a request <br /> to reserve time on a specific agenda item and no one responded. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION-The affidavit of publication was received. <br /> MINUTES- Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the minutes of <br /> the February 10, 2026, meeting. Bredthauer, Hurst, Quandt, Lancaster, Peterson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes, and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION-Chair Peterson called for public participation, and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 3.COUNTY ASSESSOR TAX CORRECTION NOTICES — DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE <br /> ACTION TO AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN TAX CORRECTIONS #768 to #784 — <br /> County Assessor Kristi Wold was present requesting a motion from the board to <br /> authorize the chair to sign tax correction notices #768 to #784. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to authorize the Chair to sign tax <br /> correction notices #768 to #784. Bredthauer, Hurst, Quandt, Lancaster, Peterson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes, and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 4. COUNTY TREASURER — DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE <br /> EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS FOR - County Treasurer Alaina Verplank presented the <br /> following motor vehicle renewal exemptions. <br /> a) Central Nebraska Luther School, 212 West 12th Street for a 2003 Thomas bus, a <br /> 1999 Chevrolet suburban and a 2018 Ford Van to be used for transporting school <br /> students and employees for activities <br /> b) Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity for a 1998 US Coachworkks Cargo van, <br /> 2000 Continental Cargo van, 2005 H & H Utility trailer, 2013 2 wheel trailer, 2019 <br /> Titan dump trailer, 2008 GMC and a 2015 Ford Econoline to be used for <br /> construction and maintenance of housing projects <br />
