The new
grant will be written for 250 ton.
Quandt made a motion and Sorensen seconded to set the bid opening for the tire clean-
up for August 16, 2022 with bids due August 15, 2022 by 5:00 p.m. Bredthauer, Hurst,
Lancaster, Quandt, Peteson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted
no. The east side of the
road drained and the state ditch was backed up but on Monday it was dry. They cleaned
out the end of the tube. He said they will take out more on the east side and he talked
to the landowner and he did not have a problem with that they have solved some of the
problems.
Sorensen stated that the county is doing as much as they can it is flat and hard to get
the water to drain. It is very flat in that area.
He showed the pictures of the South Locust Bridge and noted the expansion joints
because of salt and there is a crack on the center pier. They will eventually have to
rehab this bridge but to do that they will have to take of the top cap and repair the
beams. There are pockets on the deck. They will not have to do an environmental
work. This could be part of the bipartisan projects.
Don is asking for authorization to hire an engineer to look at the Wood River Bridge and
get it started. We need to have a plan and a design and have it ready to go. The South
Locust Bridge would be the second project and the fracture critical bridge south of Alda
and the Wood River Bridge. He said on these 3 will be really close to $3.2 million he
also noted that they could partner with another county. Hamilton County is looking at a
bridge and they could partner with them.
Don said the fracture critical bridge is on the 1 year plan the Wood River bridge is a
federal route so there would be no BRO funds but he may re-inspect the fracture critical
bridge and it might be eligible for funds.
4
