Close Contacts:
Regardless of vaccination status, per the guidelines of the health department,an employee who has
close contact with a person who tests positive can continue to work if wearing a mask for: 1) 14
days,or 2)if the employee is tested for COVID19 on the 7th day after exposure and the test result is
negative, the employee can discontinue use of the mask.
Masks:
Due to the continuing pandemic and rising rates of transmission, the health department recommends
all employees wear masks, especially when social distancing cannot occur.
Booster Shots:
The County is working with the health department to provide booster shots. Booster shots are
currently available to individuals who fall into the high-risk category. Employees with high-risks
may contact their doctor or health department for additional details on obtaining the booster shot.
Generally, it is believed the booster shot will be available in the coming months. The County is
continuing to explore the possibility of providing an on-site(on Hall County property)booster shot
clinic similar to past mass flu shot opportunities provided by the county. It is recommended that the
booster shot occur eight months (or more) after the second shot in the vaccination sequence.
Inmate Protections:
Hall County continues to seek out best practices to be proactive in mitigating the effects of
COVID 19 within our confined population. The Central District Health Department and Corrections
Director continue to work together to provide vaccinations to inmates as desired. Additionally, the
Health Department is working with the corrections and contracted medical providers towards being
able to provide rapid testing for individuals being housed at the jail that the spread of COVID 19 can
be reduced as much as possible.
Mandatory Vaccinations:
This is a very new topic with the President's plan being publicly announced on September 9th,2021.
It is not yet known what will be required of employers—in particular local government employers.
The County will monitor this situation and update you as information becomes available.
