HALL COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING NOVEMBER 9, 20201 <br /> The Hall County.Board of Commissioners convened November 9, 2021 by published <br /> call in the County Board meeting room, 121 South Pine Street, Grand Island, NE. <br /> CALL TO ORDER- The meeting was called to order by Pam Lancaster <br /> INVOCATION - Scott Sorensen gave the invocation <br /> PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE — The Pledge was given in unison. <br /> ROLL CALL - Present on roll call were Karen Bredthauer, Butch Hurst, Pam Lancaster, <br /> Gary Quandt, Ron Peterson, Jane Richardson and Scott Sorensen. Also present were <br /> Kim Dugan and Deputy County Attorney Sarah Christensen. <br /> 1A DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON GULF WAR MEMORIAL AT HALL COUNTY <br /> VETERAN'S PARK - Lancaster noted that there are a number of veterans here today. <br /> Gary recognized Brandon Warner Hall County employee, Tim Bartz, Bill Luft, and Mike <br /> Ponte. Brandon stted they have just formed committee and re starting to work on the <br /> project to build a memorial for the gulf wars. <br /> Lancaster stated that they do not need the board's permission but appreciates the <br /> information. This is appropriate because of Veteran's Day and it is important to recognize <br /> all of these wars. She thanked them for coming. <br /> Quandt said it is time to honor our gulf war veterans. They're working on a scrap iron <br /> drive and will pay for this with donations. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Peterson seconded to move forward with the Gulf War <br /> memorial at the Hall County Veterans Park. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, <br /> Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW — Lancaster read the notice for a public meeting <br /> subject to the open meetings laws of the State of Nebraska. The requirements for an open <br /> meeting are posted on the door to my left and notices are on the front table for your <br /> information. <br /> AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION — the affidavit of publication was received. <br /> REQUEST TO RESERVE TIME — Chair Lancaster called for anyone regarding a <br /> request to reserve time and no one responded. <br /> Consent agenda — Peterson made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the <br /> following by consent agenda. <br /> 1 <br />
