BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> HALL COUNTY, NEBRASKA <br /> RESOLUTION #20- 1/t <br /> A RESOLUTION BY THE HALL COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS REGARDING <br /> THE SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS DISEASE AND ENCOURAGING HEALTHY HABITS <br /> WHEREAS,the coronavirus isa new coronavirus that has not previously been identified in <br /> humans; <br /> WHEREAS, the virus causing coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),is not the same as the <br /> coronavirus commonly circulated among humans which causes mild illness like the common <br /> cold; <br /> WHEREAS, according to the Center For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the virus <br /> that causes COVID-19 is thought to spread from person to person through respiratory droplets <br /> produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. These droplets can land in the <br /> mouths or noses of people nearby or possible be inhaled into the lungs. Current research <br /> suggests the spread is more likely when people are in close contact with one another (within 6 <br /> feet); <br /> WHEREAS, the CDC has declared COVID-19 a public health emergency and theSecretary <br /> of the United States Department of Health andHumanServices declared that COVID-19 created a <br /> public health emergency; <br /> WHEREAS, the Central District Health Department declared a disaster emergency due to <br /> the COVID-19; <br /> WHEREAS, it is believed that practicing good health and hygiene habits such as wearing <br /> a mask, thoroughly washing hands,and maintaining a distance of six feet or more from others <br /> will reduce the spread of COVID-19. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Hall County Board of Commissioners <br /> encourages all people to wear a mask around others, thoroughly and frequently wash their <br /> hands, and to maintain a distance of six or more feet from others whenever possible; <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Hall County Board of Commissioners believes that by <br /> practicing good health and hygiene habits lives can be saved and businesses can remain open. <br /> •Resolution moved by Commissioner �{ p„� TQ rSo-r . <br /> Seconded by Commissioner k<cic E. r-e[ Ike ec <br />
