MICHELLE STEHLIK HALL COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY ANNOUNCEMENT Michelle Stehlik with the Hall county Historical Society stated that they have been working on a project that will benefit all of Hall County. This is their largest project to. They have completed the fund raising to digitalize all of the 20 old newspaper in Hall County. They will now all be available online and free of charge to anyone who wants to look at them. They did the project in batches and now it will be available. This involved the Shelton Clipper, Doniphan Herald, Grand Island Independent, Wood River and the Library. She also stated they are busy completing the Pioneer Park project. This was the site of the first County Court House and in 1907 there was a fountain installed in the park. They were work to restore it to the original condition and it will be dedicated July 4, 2021. They are putting historical markers in Wood River and a marker for the 1980 Grand Island tornado. They also have all of their programing on line. They next big project will be a large street clock on third street. The Hall County Historical Society is the oldest society in the State of Nebraska. She also noted that the Liederkranz will 150 years old. Quandt thanked her for her work these are fantastic projects.
