HALL COUNTY WEED CONTROL <br /> ROBERT SCHULTZ - SUPERINTENDENT <br /> 2807 W 2' ST GRAND ISLAND, NE 68803 <br /> PHONE: 385-5097 FAX: 385-5121 <br /> roberts@hallcountyne.gov <br /> August 3, 2020 <br /> The Hall County Weed Board met on August 3, 2020 at 2:00 for the monthly meeting. <br /> Members present were Francis Hannon, Kelly Markham, Neal Sidders, Gary Jacobson <br /> and Rob Schultz. <br /> The meeting was opened at 2:00 PM. Minutes were read by Gary and approved with a <br /> motion by Francis. Kelly seconded. Motion passed. <br /> Claims for August were read and approved with a motion by Neal that was seconded by <br /> Kelly. Motion carried. July expenses to date are: $5,644.03 and income was $0. <br /> Public Participation: None. <br /> Old Business: <br /> • Platte River Resilience Fund update: Rob was appointed to sit on the Fund <br /> Advisory Committee. The group is developing a vision and mission statement <br /> and will be soliciting for funds in the future months. <br /> • Rob had a budget meeting with the county board on July 28th to discuss the 20-21 <br /> budget <br /> • Rob did a force control spray on CEMEX then sent a bill. If they do not pay, we <br /> can put it as a lien against their taxes. <br /> New Business: <br /> • Rob mailed over 100 flyers containing weed control information to past <br /> customers. <br /> • Rob mailed over 130 courtesy letters regarding upland phragmites to landowners <br /> that have phragmites. <br /> • Spraying is happening on the Platte River by airboat now, the helicopter will be <br /> here towards the end of August to spray from Columbus to Lake Mac. The <br /> PVWMA has been doing some water testing for ppb residue after spraying in the <br /> river. <br /> • Summer Training is August 5th and 6th in Kearney. Rob will be going. <br /> • The PVWMA has applied for grant from the NDA, have not heard results yet. <br /> A motion to adjourn was made by Francis and seconded by Gary. Motion carried. <br /> The next meeting will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. <br /> Gary Jacobson, Secretary <br />
