Steve Riehle stated that they contacted a lot of contractors and only received one. Lancaster <br /> and Richardson both noted that the County has a good relationship with DHHS and it is <br /> important to get this completed. Bredthauer noted that this was first addressed in December <br /> 2018 and they have been very accommodating this needs to be addressed as soon as possible. <br /> The following bid was received. <br /> Lacy Construction Company BID BOND ENCLOSED TOTAL BID <br /> Grand Island, NE $29,607.20 <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to refer the bid to Mr. Humphrey to review <br /> and come back with a recommendation. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, <br /> Quandt and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION — Mr. Baldwin with J.I.L. stated he called Mr. Riehle regarding Wood <br /> River Road. Wood River Road is a priority and this needs to be addressed before any other <br /> projects are started. <br /> Bredthauer ask Steve about Hillside Road in Cairo and he stated that he talked to the inspector <br /> from Olsson and Associates and they still have 10 or 12 loads of clay to haul. They want to <br /> have this completed before they start that project. <br /> Quandt questioned what can be done on Wood River Road and Steve stated there are two <br /> different ways to mill the road. They could mill the road down to remove the bumps and he <br /> stated that there is a company that milled Stolley Park Road they used diamond milling and they <br /> did a good job. Mr. Baldwin stated he has contacted them but they have not retuned his call. <br /> Quandt stated they ae trying to work with them but are not happy with the current condition of <br /> the road. Steve stated that once the moiling is done it will be smooth. Stolley Park Road is <br /> smooth but he is not in favor of moving forward until the first part is done. <br /> Lancaster stated she drove Wood River Road and also Stolley Park Road. Peterson stated he <br /> also drove the roads and he uses Stolley Park Road numerous times a day and it is smooth. <br /> Hartman stated they are the experts on the road and the board needs to listen to them. There <br /> are people who know what to do and it is up to Steve. <br /> Steve stated they need to get a price for the diamond grinding and move to the next step to <br /> correct Wood River Road. <br /> Lancaster stated that there is no action to be taken. The board members can drive the road to <br /> make a comparison. <br /> 12 DISCUSSION AND ACTION ON UPDATE FROM SENIOR CITIZENS INDUSTRIES — <br /> Lancaster stated that the information from the last meeting was not correct Theresa <br /> Engelhardt and Dana Kirby were present and provided information to the board. It was also <br /> noted that the county board budgeted $70,000.00 to be used if Senior Citizens need additional <br /> funding. Theresa stated that they did use some of the funds to help with the snow removal this <br /> winter the north side parking lot has to be salted to take care of the ice. They also used some of <br /> the funds to help with utilities. MAAA only covers the utilities for the areas used for the senior <br /> meals. She stated that the additional funds helped with the utilities and also was used to cover <br /> 4 <br />
