HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING NOVEMBER 13, 2018 <br /> 9: 05 a.m. Lanfear made a motion and Quandt seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Karen Bredthauer, <br /> Pamela Lancaster, Douglas Lanfear, Gary Quandt, and Jane Richardson and Steve <br /> Schuppan. Also present was County Assessor Kristi Wold. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW— Chair Richardson read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION —The affidavit of publication was received. <br /> MINUTES —Lanfear made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the minutes of the <br /> October 30, 2018 meeting. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chair Richardson called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 3. 9:15 A.M. HEARING ON HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR ANN <br /> VREDEVELD — Quandt made a motion and Lanfear seconded to open the hearing <br /> regarding the homestead exemption. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Shawn Farritor and Ann Vredeveld and her son were present. Mr. Farritor stated that he is <br /> representing Ms. Vredeveld and they are requesting that the homestead exemption to be <br /> approved. She is a resident of Hall County and has had medical problems. There was a letter <br /> from her doctor Dr. Jana VanWie addressing her serious health issues. Chair Jane Richardson <br /> stated that she verified the information from the doctor. <br /> Mr. Farritor is requesting that the homestead exemption be approved for Ms. Vredeveld. <br /> County Assessor Kristi Wold stated that they sent this information to the state requesting an <br /> interpretation of the statute and they stated that Nebraska State Statute 77-3514.01 states that <br /> if there is a letter addressing the medical issues it can be approved. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the homestead exemption. He <br /> withdrew his motion and second was withdrawn to go out of the hearing. <br /> Lanfear made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go out of the hearing. Arnold, Bredthauer, <br /> Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted <br /> no. Motion carried. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the homestead exemption for Ann <br /> Vredeveld. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan <br /> all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br />
