HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING SEPTEMBER 4, 2018 <br /> 9: 05 a.m. Lanfear made a motion and Arnold seconded to go into a Board of Equalization <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Karen Bredthauer, Pamela <br /> Lancaster, Douglas Lanfear, Gary Quandt, Jane Richardson and Steve Schuppan. Also <br /> present was Alaina Verplank County Treasurer. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW—Chair Richardson read the notice of the open meeting <br /> law. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION —The affidavit of publication was received. <br /> MINUTES — Lanfear made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve the minutes of the August <br /> 21, 2018 meeting. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan <br /> all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chair Richardson called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> COUNTY TREASURER— A) DISCUSS & APPROVE EXEMPTION FOR GRAND ISLAND <br /> AREA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY FOR A 2015 FORD - County Treasurer Alaina Verplank <br /> presented the exemption application for Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity, 502 west <br /> second street, Grand Island for a 2015 Ford to be used in the transport and storage of tools, <br /> equipment, supplies and donations that support the work of the organization <br /> B) DISCUSS &APPROVE EXEMPTION FOR HALL COUNTY LIVESTOCK IMPROVEMENT <br /> ASSN. FOR A 2018 GMC PICKUP —this is for Hall County Livestock Improvement Assn. 700 <br /> East Stolley Park Road, Grand Island for a 2-19 GMC Sierra Pickup to be used for 4H activities, <br /> community activities, promoting events of an educational of charitable nature, horse racing ag <br /> events including Hall County Fair the State Fair and State 4-H Horse Show. She is requesting a <br /> motion from the County Board to approve the exemption applications as per Nebraska State <br /> Statute 77-202. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the exemption applications from <br /> Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity for the 2015 Ford and for Hall County Livestock <br /> improvement assn. for a 2018 GMC Sierra Pickup. Richardson stated that she will abstain from <br /> the vote because her husband is on the board. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, <br /> Quandt, and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Richardson abstained. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS — Chair Richardson called for new or unfinished business <br /> and no one responded. <br /> 9:08 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> Marla J.
