HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING JANUARY 9, 2018 <br /> 9: 05 a.m. Arnold made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Karen Bredthauer, <br /> Pamela Lancaster, Douglas Lanfear, Gary Quandt, Jane Richardson and Steve <br /> Schuppan. Also present was County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW— Chairman Richardson read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION — The affidavit of publication was received. <br /> MINUTES — Bredthauer made a motion and Lanfear seconded to approve the minutes <br /> of the December 18, 2017 meeting. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Richardson called for public participation and no <br /> one responded. <br /> 3. COUNTY TREASURER — DISCUSS &APPROVE ANNUAL RENEWAL OF <br /> MOTOR VEHICLE EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS FOR 2018 — County Treasurer Peg <br /> Pesek and Deputy County Treasurer Alaina Verplank presented the annual renewal of <br /> motor vehicle exemption applications there are 53 renewals and she provide a list of the <br /> applications to the board members. She has approved these applications as per <br /> Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and is asking the County Board for a blanket approval. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the exemption application <br /> as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, <br /> Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 4. DISCUSSION ON LETTER FROM CHAIR FOR VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION <br /> WITH TAX EXEMPT STATUS — Ms. Pesek is requesting to have the board chair sign <br /> this letter to send out to organizations that have to exemption status to identify the <br /> vehicles. She stated they will hand out the letter when they come in to renew the <br /> plates. <br /> NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS — Chairman Richardson called for new or <br /> unfinished business and no one responded. <br /> 9:16 Adjourned the Boar. of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> ....... <br /> deALL;zit, <br /> Marla .
