HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING APRIL 4, 2017 <br /> 9:10 a.m. Arnold made a motion and Lanfear seconded to go into a Board of Equalization <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Karen Bredthauer, Pamela <br /> Lancaster, Douglas Lanfear, Gary Quandt, Jane Richardson and Steve Schuppan. Also <br /> present were County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf, County Assessor Jan Pelland and Board <br /> Assistant Stacey Ruzicka. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW— Chairman Lancaster read the notice of the open meeting <br /> law. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION —The affidavit of public was received. <br /> MINUTES — Quandt made a motion and Lanfear seconded to approve the minutes of the March <br /> 21, 2017 meeting. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan <br /> all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 3 a) COUNTY TREASURER DISCUSS &APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR CHI <br /> HEALTH ST FRANCIS FOR 1 2017 NISSAN —County Treasurer Peg Pesek presented the <br /> exemption application for CHI Health, 2620 W Faidley Avenue, Grand Island, for a 2017 Nissan <br /> to be used to provide services within the organization supporting operations of St Francis <br /> Hospital in the daily functions for nurses and patients. <br /> 3b) DISCUSS & APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR THIRD CITY CHRISTIAN <br /> CHURCH FOR A 2003 FREIGHTLINER BUS —This application for Third City Christian Church, <br /> 4100 W 13th Street, Grand Island is for a 2003 Freightliner bus to be used primarily for non- <br /> profit Connect Program. It may be used for other ministries of Third City Christian Church. She <br /> has approved these exemption applications as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and is <br /> requesting that the county board approve. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Richardson seconded to approve the exemption applications for <br /> CHI Health St Francis Hospital for the 2017 Nissan and for Third City Christian Church for the <br /> 2003 Freightliner. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan <br /> all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 4. COUNTY ASSESSOR - EXECUTIVE SESSION REGARDING LITIGATION -Arnold made a <br /> motion and Lanfear seconded to go into executive session regarding litigation. There are two <br /> reasons for an executive session, to prevent needless harm or injury to an individual or to <br /> protect the public interest. This is to protect the public interest. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, <br /> Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 9:10 a.m. executive session <br /> 9:31 a.m. Quandt made a motion and Arnold seconded to go out of executive session.
