HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING JANUARY 10, 2017 <br /> 9:30 a.m. Quandt made a motion and Arnold seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Karen Bredthauer, <br /> Pamela Lancaster, Douglas Lanfear, Gary Quandt, Jane Richardson and Steve <br /> Schuppan. Also present were County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf and Board Assistant <br /> Stacey Ruzicka and County Treasurer Peg Pesek. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW — Chairman Lancaster read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION —the affidavit of public was received. <br /> MINUTES — Quandt made a motion and Richardson seconded to approve the minutes <br /> of the December 13, 2016 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson <br /> and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Bredthauer abstained. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no <br /> one responded. <br /> 3. COUNTY TREASURER - DISCUSS & APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR <br /> HALL COUNTY LIVESTOCK IMPROVEMENT ASSN. FONNER PARK— County <br /> Treasurer Peg Pesek stated this application is for a vehicle that was purchased in <br /> December and will be good for 1 month and then it will be on the annual renewal. It is <br /> for Hall County Livestock Improvement Association 700 E Stolley Park Road, Grand <br /> Island, for a 2010 International Truck to be used for 4 H activities, community activities, <br /> and promotional events of an educational or charitable nature, horse racing, agricultural <br /> events including the Hall County Fair and the State Fair and State 4H horse show. She <br /> has approved this exemption application as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and is <br /> requesting a motion from the board to approve. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Richardson seconded to approve the exemption application <br /> for Hall County Livestock Improvement Association. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, <br /> Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 4. COUNTY TREASURER — DISCUSS &APPROVE ANNUAL RENEWAL OF <br /> MOTOR VEHICLE EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS FOR 2017 — County Treasurer Peg <br /> Pesek presented the 2017 annual renewal of the exemption applications. She also <br /> included a list of the type and number or vehicles for each applicant. There are 283 <br /> vehicles that are exempt. She has approved these exemption applications as per <br /> Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and asking for a motion for a blanket approval for the <br /> renewals. <br />
