HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING MAY 31, 2016 <br /> 9:05 A.M. Lanfear made a motion and Quandt seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL - Present on roll call were Pam Lancaster, Doug Lanfear, Dan Purdy, Gary <br /> Quandt, and Steve Schuppan. Scott Arnold and Jane Richardson were absent. <br /> CALL TO ORDER —Vice Chairman Purdy called the Board of Equalization meeting to <br /> order. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW—Vice Chairman Purdy read the notice of open <br /> meeting law. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION -Affidavit of publication of publication for the <br /> meeting on file. <br /> MINUTES — Lancaster made a motion and Schuppan seconded to place on file the <br /> minutes of the May 17, 2016 meeting. Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, and <br /> Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Arnold and Richardson were absent. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Chairman Arnold called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> COUNTY TREASURER — DISCUSS & APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR <br /> THIRD CITY CHRISTIAN CHURCH FOR A 2001 THOMAS BUS <br /> DISCUSS & APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR GRAND ISLAND AREA <br /> HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, FOR A 1996 GMC VAN — County Treasurer Peg Pesek <br /> presented the exemption application for Third City Christian Church 4100 West 13th <br /> Street, Grand Island, for a 2001 Thomas bus. The vehicle will be used for the nonprofit <br /> Connect program and for multiple ministries at Third City Christian Church. <br /> Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity, 502 West 2nd Street, Grand Island for a 1996 <br /> GMC van to be used to pick up donations, transport home improvements and <br /> construction material and transport personnel and products for their housing mission <br /> and it could be used for storage of materials. <br /> She has recommended approval under Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and is asking for <br /> a motion from the County Board to approve. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Schuppan seconded to approve the exemption application <br /> for Third City Christian Church and for Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity. <br /> Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Arnold and Richardson were absent. Motion carried. <br />
