HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING MAY 17, 2016 <br /> 9:10 A.M. Purdy made a motion and Schuppan seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL - Present on roll call were Scott Arnold, Pam Lancaster, Doug Lanfear, Dan <br /> Purdy, Gary Quandt, Jane Richardson and Steve Schuppan. <br /> CALL TO ORDER — Chairman Arnold called the Board of Equalization meeting to order. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW—Chairman Arnold read the notice of open meeting <br /> law. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION -Affidavit of publication of publication for the <br /> meeting on file. <br /> MINUTES — Purdy made a motion and Schuppan seconded to place on file the minutes <br /> of the May 3, 2016 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson <br /> and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Chairman Arnold called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> Gregg Baxter stated he sent an e mail to the supervisors and would like to comment on <br /> the Crane Trust issue. <br /> Chairman Arnold stated that he would accept public comments on the Crane Trust <br /> issue. <br /> 6 COUNTY TREASURER — DISCUSS &APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR <br /> ORPHAN GRAIN TRAIN FOR A 1999 CHEVROLET PICKUP <br /> DISCUSS & APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR HEARTLAND UNITED WAY <br /> FOR A 2010 FORD — Deputy County Treasurer Alaina Verplank read the following <br /> application for exemptions: <br /> Orphan Grain Train, 427 N Shady Bend Road, Grand Island, NE for a 1999 Chevrolet <br /> pickup to be used for collecting donated clothing and other donated items in the Grand <br /> Island area. <br /> Heartland United Way Inc, 1441 N Webb Road, Grand Island, NE for a 2010 Ford <br /> pickup to be used for United Way programs fundraiser and events to haul toys, food and <br /> household furniture and will be used to distribute campaign materials to community <br /> partners located in Hall, Hamilton, Howard and Merrick Counties. It will also be used by <br /> staff to travel to United Way meetings and trainings locally, statewide and out of state. <br /> 1 <br />
