HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING JANUARY 26, 2016 <br /> 9:05 a.m. Purdy made a motion and Lanfear seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting <br /> ROLL CALL Present on roll call were Scott Arnold, Pam Lancaster, Doug Lanfear, Dan <br /> Purdy, Gary Quandt, Jane Richardson and Steve Schuppan. <br /> Call to order— Chairman Arnold called the Board of Equalization meeting to order. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW— Chairman Arnold read the notice of open meeting <br /> law. Read. <br /> MINUTES — Purdy made a motion and Richardson seconded to place on file the <br /> minutes of the January 12, 2016 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Chairman Arnold called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> COUNTY TREASURER EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR MID NEBRASKA <br /> INDIVIDUAL SERVICES — County Treasurer Peg Pesek was present. She received the <br /> exemption application from Mid Nebraska Individual Services for a 2010 Ford 4/Dr <br /> Sedan. This vehicle will be used to transport developmentally disabled individuals and <br /> provide services for employment. She has approved exemption application as per <br /> Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and is asking for the County Board's Approval. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Richardson seconded to approve the exemption <br /> application for Mid Nebraska Individual Services. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, <br /> Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> TAX CORRECTIONS NOTICES — County Assessor Jan Pelland presented tax <br /> correction notices #5009 to #5045 requesting that the County Board accept and <br /> authorize the chair to initial. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Richardson seconded to accept tax correction notices <br /> #5009 to #5045 and authorize the chair to initial. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, <br /> Quandt Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Quandt asked if the ag-land prices were going down and Ms. Pelland stated that they <br /> are leveling off and her values currently at the lowest point of the range at 65% and they <br /> have to be at 69% so she will still be looking at a 10% increase. <br /> Lancaster thanked her for the numbers and noted that the governor is asking for only a <br /> 3% tax increase. She expressed concern on the unfunded mandates that are imposed <br /> on the counties <br />
