HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING MARCH 10, 2015 <br /> 9:05 a.m. Schuppan made a motion and Lanfear seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Pamela Lancaster, <br /> Douglas Lanfear, Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, and Steve Schuppan. Jane Richardson <br /> was absent. Also present were County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf, Board Assistant <br /> Stacey Ruzicka and County Treasurer Peg Pesek. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW — Chairman Arnold read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> MINUTES — Purdy made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the minutes of <br /> the February 24, 2015 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, and <br /> Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Richardson was absent. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Arnold called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> County Treasurer Peg Pesek presented the following exemption applications: <br /> The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society, 1401 East Street, Wood River, NE <br /> for a 2015 Ford Fusion 4/Door, to be used for travel to home office in Sioux Falls, SD to <br /> travel to GSS campuses to work with employees on compliance issues. She has <br /> approved this application as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202. <br /> Mid Plains Center for Behavioral Healthcare Services, P.O. Box 1763, Grand Island, NE <br /> for a 2005 Pontiac 4/Door Sedan to be used to transport YCS supervisor to various <br /> locations that we have YCS centers. She has approved this application as per <br /> Nebraska State Statute 77-202. <br /> Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska, 1804 South Eddy, Grand Island, NE for a <br /> 2008 Chevrolet and a 2006 Ford to be used for picking up and taking home clients or <br /> support of clients activities and training. She has approved this application as per <br /> Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and is requesting the county board to approve. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Purdy seconded to approve the exemption applications <br /> for Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society, Mid Plains Center and Goodwill <br /> Industries. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, and Schuppan all voted yes and <br /> none voted no. Richardson was absent. Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Quandt asked Ms. Pesek about the public tax sale and if anyone can attend. She <br /> stated that anyone can attend and the bidders can pay the taxes. That is how the <br /> money goes back, to the political subdivisions. The tax sale certificates have a 3 year <br /> maturity date and the taxpayer can come in and pay the taxes during that time.
