HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING JULY 1, 2014 <br /> 9:05 a.m. Lancaster made a motion and Ziola seconded to go into a Board of Equalization <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Pamela Lancaster, Bob <br /> McFarland, Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, and David Ziola. Steve Schuppan was absent. Also <br /> present were Chief Deputy County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf, Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka <br /> and Deputy County Assessor Barb Stoddard... <br /> Chairman McFarland called the meeting to order. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW— Chairman McFarland read the notice of the open meeting <br /> law. <br /> MINUTES —Arnold made a motion and Ziola seconded to approve the minutes of the June 17, <br /> 2014 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, and Ziola all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Schuppan was absent. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman McFarland called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> COUNTY ASSESSOR— DISCUSS AND APPROVE PERSONAL PROPERTY EXEMPTION <br /> APPLICATION FOR COLLAGE CENTER— Deputy County Assessor Barb Stoddard was <br /> present. This is for Collage Center that is located at 822 North Diers Avenue, Grand Island, they <br /> are a 501 c3. They assist women and couples facing unexpected pregnancies and sexual <br /> health issues and they provide some free services. They are requesting an exemption under <br /> educational religious and charitable. County Assessor Jan Pelland has approved the exemption <br /> application as per Nebraska State statute 77-202 and is asking for the board's approval. 1 <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the exemption application. Arnold, <br /> Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Schuppan <br /> was absent. Motion carried. <br /> 2. RECEIVE AND PLACE ON FILE PROPERTY VALUATION PROTEST#1 TO #225. Quandt <br /> made a motion and Lancaster seconded to receive and place on file property valuation protest <br /> #1 to 225. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, and Ziola all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Schuppan was absent. Motion carried. <br /> NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS - Chairman McFarland called for new or unfinished <br /> business and no one responded. <br /> 9:14 a.m. Chairman McFarland adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the <br /> regular meeting. <br /> j A.it <br /> aria J onley H.
