HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING MAY 6, 2014 <br /> 9:20 a.m. Ziola made a motion and Arnold seconded to go into a Board of Equalization <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Pamela Lancaster, <br /> Bob McFarland, Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, Steve Schuppan and David Ziola. Also <br /> present were Deputy County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf, Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka, <br /> and County Treasurer Peg Pesek. <br /> Chairman McFarland called the meeting to order. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW — Chairman McFarland read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> MINUTES — Ziola made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the minutes of <br /> the April 22, 2014 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan <br /> and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman McFarland called for public participation and no <br /> one responded. <br /> 6. COUNTY TREASURER — DISCUSS AND APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION <br /> FOR GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF GREATER NEBRASKA FOR A 2005 <br /> INTERNATIONAL TRACTOR — County Treasurer Peg Pesek presented the exemption <br /> application for Goodwill Industries, 1804 South Eddy, Grand Island for a 2005 <br /> International tractor to be used for hauling & collecting of donations that support the <br /> disability programs. She has approved this application under Nebraska State Statute <br /> 77-202 and is requesting the County Board to approve. Discussion was held if this <br /> should be marked as charitable instead of educational but the donations are collected to <br /> provide jobs for the disability programs. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Arnold second to approve the exemption application for <br /> Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska Inc. for the 2005 International tractor. Arnold, <br /> Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Motion carried. <br /> NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS — Chairman McFarland called for new or unfinished <br /> business and no one responded. <br /> 9:25 a. m .Adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> /i <br /> 0,-** <br /> aria .
