HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING APRIL 22, 2014 <br /> 9:06 a.m. Ziola made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Pamela Lancaster, <br /> Bob McFarland, Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, Steve Schuppan and David Ziola. Also <br /> present were Deputy County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf, Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka, <br /> and County Assessor Jan Pelland. <br /> Chairman McFarland called the meeting to order. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW — Chairman McFarland read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> MINUTES — Schuppan made a motion and Ziola seconded to approve the minutes of <br /> the April 8, 2014 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and <br /> Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman McFarland called for public participation and no <br /> one responded. <br /> 1. EXECUTIVE SESSION —REGARDING PENDING LITIGATION — Lancaster made a <br /> motion and Ziola seconded to go into executive session regarding penning litigation. <br /> This executive session is to protect the public interest. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, <br /> Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 9:08 a.m. executive session <br /> 9:36 a.m. Ziola made a motion and Schuppan seconded to go out of executive session. <br /> Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Arnold was absent for the vote. Motion carried. <br /> Chairman McFarland stated that the board held both of the executive sessions <br /> regarding pending litigation. <br /> Item #1 went into executive session at 9:08 a.m. and out at 9:25 a.m. <br /> Item #3 went into executive session at 9:25 a.m. and out at 9:33 a.m. <br /> There were no other subjects discussed and no action was taken. <br /> 2. POSSIBLE ACTION TO ACCEPT SETTLEMENT OFFER ON JBS SWIFT TERC <br /> APPEAL OR TO MAKE A COUNTER OFFER — Lancaster made a motion and Arnold <br /> seconded to accept the settlement offer of$15,212,000.00 to $15,300,300.00 for 2013 <br /> and honor the same amount for 2014 and honor the permit amount that has been put in <br /> place. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes <br /> and none voted no. Motion carried. <br />
