HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING OCTOBER 22, 2013 <br /> 9:05 a.m. Ziola made a motion and Quandt seconded to go into a Board of Equalization <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Pamela Lancaster, Bob McFarland, <br /> Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, Steve Schuppan and David Ziola. Scott Arnold was <br /> absent. Chairman Lancaster stated Mr. Arnold was in a car accident on his way to the <br /> meeting and will be absent. Also present were County Attorney Mark Young and Board <br /> Assistant Stacey Ruzicka. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW — Chairman Lancaster read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> MINUTES — Ziola made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the minutes of the <br /> October 8, 2013 meeting. Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola <br /> all voted yes and none voted no. Arnold was absent. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no <br /> one responded. <br /> TAX RATE CERTIFICATIONS — County Clerk Marla Conley stated she received the tax <br /> rate certifications from other counties and is requesting to have them placed on file. <br /> The out of county rates for the joint districts have been provided to the County Assessor <br /> and County Treasurer. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Ziola seconded to place the tax rates on file. Lancaster, <br /> McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Arnold was absent. Motion carried. <br /> COUNTY TREASURER —APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR MOSAIC — <br /> Deputy County Treasurer Alaina Verplank presented the exemption application for <br /> Mosaic 2846 Old Fair Road, Grand Island, for a 2014 Toyota Sierra to be used for <br /> transportation of disabled individuals. County Treasurer Peg Pesek approved the <br /> exemption application as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and is requesting the <br /> County Board to approve. <br /> Mr. Purdy questioned if this should be marked a charitable instead of religious. Ms. <br /> Verplank stated that she would check previous applications and come back with the <br /> information. <br /> NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS — Chairman Lancaster called for new or unfinished <br /> business and no one responded. <br /> 9:09 a.m. Chairman Lancaster recessed the board of equalization meeting until Ms. <br />
