HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING OCTOBER 8, 2013 <br /> 9:05 a.m. Ziola made a motion and Quandt seconded to go into a Board of Equalization <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Pamela Lancaster, Bob McFarland, <br /> Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, Steve Schuppan and David Ziola. Scott Arnold was absent <br /> for the roll call vote. Also present were Deputy County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf and <br /> Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW — Chairman Lancaster read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> Scott Arnold arrived at the meeting. <br /> MINUTES —Ziola made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the minutes of the <br /> September 24, 2013 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan <br /> and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no <br /> one responded. <br /> COUNTY TREASURER —APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR MID PLAINS <br /> CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE SERVICES INC. FORA 1999 FORD <br /> VAN - County Treasurer Peg Pesek presented the exemption application for Mid Plains <br /> Center for a 1999 Ford van to be used to transport clients to and from services. She <br /> has approved this application as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and is requesting <br /> the County Board to approve. <br /> McFarland made a motion and Schuppan seconded to approve the exemption <br /> application for Mid Plains Center. <br /> Mr. Quandt questioned if he should vote on the motion because he serves on the board. <br /> Discussion was held and Mr. Arnold stated that he had similar concerns because he <br /> worked for the city but contacted the Accountability and Disclosure Commission and <br /> there would be no personal gain. <br /> The vote on the motion to approve the exemption application was taken. . Arnold, <br /> Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PLACE ON FILE TAX RATES —A COPY OF THE RATES WERE DISTRIBUTED TO <br /> THE SUPERVISORS. —Ziola made a motion and Purdy seconded to place on file the <br /> tax rates as presented. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and <br /> Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> TAX CORRECTION NOTICES — County Assessor Jan Pelland presented tax correction <br />
