HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING AUGUST 13, 2013 <br /> 9:05 a.m. Quandt made a motion and Ziola seconded to go into a Board of Equalization <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Pamela Lancaster, Bob <br /> McFarland, Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, Steve Schuppan and David Ziola. Also present were <br /> Deputy County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf and County Assessor Jan Pelland. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW— Chairman Lancaster read the notice of the open meeting <br /> law. <br /> MINUTES—Ziola made a motion and Purdy seconded to approve the minutes of the July 30, <br /> 2013 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes <br /> and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> COUNTY ASSESSOR DISCUSS AND APPROVE HOMESTEAD EXEMPTIONS FILED <br /> DURING EXTENSION PERIOD— County Assessor Jan Pelland presented the exemption <br /> application that were filed during the extension period. By state statute she has to deny the <br /> applications but the County Board can override her decision. The applicants must submit a <br /> written requesting the board to approve. <br /> She received the following requests and read the letters into the record. <br /> Jane Decker, 2018 Pioneer Blvd, Grand Island, was in the hospital and did not get it submitted <br /> this was received July 3, 2013 <br /> Richard & Barbara Lorance 809 North Howard, Grand Island, They stated that they did not <br /> know the cutoff date. Pelland stated that it is published in the paper. It was received July 18, <br /> 2013 <br /> Myra Glause, 1902 West 11"'Avenue, Grand Island, failed to complete the form this one was <br /> received July 19, 2013 <br /> Ms. Pelland requested a motion to accept the homestead applications filed within the 20 day <br /> extension period. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Arnold seconded to grant the exemption applications. Arnold, <br /> Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> TAX CORRECTION NOTICES - County Assessor Jan Pelland presented tax correction notices <br /> #4665 to#4670 requesting a motion to authorize the Chair to initial <br /> Quandt made a motion and Schuppan seconded to accept the tax correct ion notice s #4665 to <br /> #4670 and authorize the chair to initial. . Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, <br /> Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br />
