HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING FEBRUARY 26, 2013 <br /> 9:05 a.m. Quandt made a motion and Schuppan seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Pamela Lancaster, Bob McFarland, <br /> Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, Steve Schuppan and David Ziola. Scott Arnold was absent <br /> attending job training. Also present were Deputy County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf, <br /> County Assessor Jan Pelland and Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka. <br /> MINUTES —Purdy made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the minutes of the <br /> February 12, 2013 meeting. Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and <br /> Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Arnold was absent. Motion carried. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW — Chairman Lancaster read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no <br /> one responded. <br /> 1. COUNTY ASSESSOR - DISCUSS AND APPROVE 2013 REAL & PERSONAL <br /> PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS — County Assessor Jan Pelland distributed a list of the <br /> renewals for the real and personal property tax exemptions. There are 239 real <br /> property exemptions, 13 personal property tax exemption and the 11 cemeteries. She <br /> also received 7 new applications. Six of the new applicants were notified the exemption <br /> applications were to be considered at the meeting today but the application for <br /> Nebraska Corn Growers Association was another new application but they did not <br /> receive a notice as it was discovered later that it was a different piece of property. Mr. <br /> Zitterkopf clarified that it was satisfactory to proceed with the approval even though they <br /> did not receive a letter informing them of today's meeting date. <br /> Mr. Quandt questioned what the valuation of all of the exemption would be and Ms <br /> Pelland stated that she did not have e that information but could supply it later. <br /> She also presented the following seven new applications: <br /> Goodwill Industries of Grater Nebraska, 1140 South Lincoln, Grand Island, NE to be <br /> used for warehouse space for mission based and retail programs of Goodwill this is for <br /> the new building <br /> Head Start Child & Family Development Program, Lot 1 and 3 of Warren Third <br /> Subdivision, Grand Island, NE to be used for preschool programs this was some extra <br /> ground that was added <br /> Iglesia Bethania 517 East 5th Grand Island, NE this is the church to be used for a <br /> religious organization there has been a complete remodel and it has been completed <br />
