The repairs may <br /> only provide 2 to 5 years more life. So the best solution would be to replace the steps. Both of <br /> the estimates provide for the replacement with stone and these quotes assume that there is <br /> sufficient foundation for the new material. He contacted Dena Sanford regarding the cost to <br /> replace the steps with stone and had discussion regarding use precast concrete. He would <br /> have to contact her requesting to use the concrete precast instead of the limestone. Quandt <br /> questioned if they could pour in place. He also noted that they do not know what is under the <br /> current stone. Mr. Humphrey stated that the concrete could be 40% cheaper. He will get more <br /> information and bring it back to the board. <br /> C) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING WATER SPRINKLERS FOR GRASS <br /> AREA AROUND PARKING LOT - Mr. Humphrey presented 3 proposald for the underground <br /> sprinklers. <br /> Sprinkler Guy Inc. $ 6,500.00 <br /> Tilly Sprinklers & Landscaping $10,650.00 <br /> Cloudburst Lawn Co. $ 6,725.00 <br /> The proposal from Sprinkler Guy was the low bid and they did the work at the Veterans' Club. <br /> This is to add onto the current system no plumbing is needed. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Lanfear seconded to accept the lowest proposal from Sprinkler <br /> Guy for $6,500.00 for the Administration Building grass area. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, <br /> Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> d) UPDATE ON THE ADMINISTRATION PARKING LOT - Mr. Humphrey stated they planned <br /> on pouring the concrete on Monday but have some work on the storm sewer otherwise may <br /> pour on Saturday. There will be about a 30 foot driveway on both sides of the island. <br /> e) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING SAFETY GLASS FOR COUNTY <br /> ATTORNEY RECEPTION AREA -this was requested at budget time and was included. The <br /> County Attorney's office requested safety glass in the reception area. He has 2 proposals. <br /> State Glass $1,655.00 <br /> Island Glass Company $2,940.00 <br /> Bredthauer made a motion and Lancaster seconded to accept the low bid from State Glass for <br /> $1,655.00. County Clerk Marla Conley stated that <br /> the Letter was sent to Terry Baxter with NIRMA and she is waiting for a reply from him. She <br /> contacted the County & District Court for available time and they stated the 19 and 20`h of <br /> November would work so it has been tentatively scheduled for that time. <br /> UPDATE ON DHHS - <br /> Update on DHHS — Mr. Humphrey stated that they may not be able to do the ramp until spring <br /> because of the weather and DHHS is aware of that. Discussion was held on the carpet and Mr. <br /> Humphrey stated that he was able to buy the carpet squares for $7.00 each and it cost $4.00 to <br /> lay it. <br /> 8 <br />
