DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING CONTACTS FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS <br /> FOR AGENDA ITEMS — Lanfear noted that the date was moved to October 151 to eliminate the <br /> committees except the committees that have ties to the outside entities. <br /> Lanfear made a motion and Quandt seconded to eliminate the following. <br /> • Ambulance Agreement <br /> • Audit <br /> • Building Inspector <br /> • Computer <br /> • Conditional use/Zoning <br /> • Corrections Steering <br /> • Facilities <br /> • Criminal Justice <br /> • Law Enforcement Co-Location <br /> • Elections <br /> • Employee Recognition <br /> • Health & Human Services <br /> • Juvenile/Paternity Cases <br /> • Public Defender <br /> • Personnel <br /> • Public Works <br /> • Safety <br /> • Superintendent Contract <br /> • Inter-local Law Enforcement <br /> • Problem Resolution Team <br /> • Legislative <br /> Arnold expressed concern eliminating audit, personnel and the election committee. He noted <br /> that if a member of the board is on the election cycle they then cannot serve on the election <br /> committee. Discussion was held and County Attorney Sarah Carstensen was asked if there <br /> was an issue with elections in state statute and she stated she has not addressed that issue. <br /> Richardson stated that she also talked to Mr. Fegley and he expressed concern on audit <br /> committee. Without the audit meetings the budget process would not move forward. She also <br /> expressed concern on the insurance committee. <br /> Lancaster agreed that a supervisor could not be on elections if they were on the ballot. There <br /> may be issues with the audits that could be a concern because department heads can respond <br /> to questions and some issues go away. She noted that personnel would have to be in <br /> executive session and also the insurance committee could be an issue. <br /> Quandt also noted concern on elections but he wants to see the audit committee eliminated. <br /> Lanfear noted he would like to see audit, facilities, corrections, and public works eliminated. <br /> Discussion was held Lanfear withdrew his motion and Quandt withdrew his second. <br /> Ms. Carstensen stated she didn't see any statutes regarding the elections. <br /> 6 <br />
