Schuppan suggested inviting the senators to a meeting to discuss these issues. The board also
needs to know the cost so far.
b) DISCUSSION ON CONTRACTS FOR CUSTODIAL TRASH AND MOWING-- Mr. Humphrey
stated he has been working with Jack on these contracts and there is no clause in the custodial
contract to add additional space for cleaning.
Mr. Zitterkopf stated he looked at the contracts and there are no provisions for adding or not
adding additional space. Elite janitorial is asking for$900.00 for the Federal Building and
$300.00 for the Plaza Building. Jack noted that the term of the contract is from July to June and
you have to inform them no less than 90 days that the contract will be terminated so that would
be by April 1St. He also noted that there is a separate clause in the agreement that you can
terminate without cause 60 days prior to the termination date. If you sent notice today then by
the first of the year it would be over. There is nothing in the agreement to add additional space.
Schuppan questioned if the committee discussed this.
Richardson stated the committee discussed adding the Plaza Building and the Federal Building
but they would have to have a new contract. They discussed going out for bids for those 2
buildings. Elite already does part of the Plaza Building.
Arnold suggested giving the 60 day notice and go out for bids. Discussion was held on the total
amount they would be looking at and for how long. It would make sense to keep the same
company and end the contract and go out for bids.
Bredthauer noted that they could give the 60 day notice and then go out for bids for all of the
buildings. Arnold suggested giving 60 day notice and keep the extension under the $5,000.00.
Quandt questioned if there is a 60 day notice and a 90 day notice and Jack stated there is.
Mr. Humphrey stated he is still getting quotes on the mowing contract.
Mr. Zitterkopf reminded that Mr. Fenster did not include the County Attorney building in his
proposal.
11C REMODELING TWO (2) RESTROOMS IN COURTHOUSE/COUNTY JUDGES AREA
Richardson stated that there are 2 small restrooms in the Judges offices that did not get
remodeled and they have asked if they could be redone. Mr. Humphrey stated that he does not
have the final costs. It will be done in house they will clean up the walls, remove the toilets and
sinks and put in new flooring and install the on demand water heaters. They have not been
changed since the 1980's. Mr. Humphrey will get the cost estimates and come back to the
board.
10:45 A.M.
