HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING MAY 30, 2017 <br /> The Hall County Board of Supervisors convened May 30, 2017 by published call in the County <br /> Board meeting room, 121 South Pine, Grand Island. <br /> CALL TO ORDER -The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pamela Lancaster. <br /> INVOCATION - Invocation was given by Don Shuda <br /> PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE—The Pledge of Allegiance was given in unison. <br /> ROLL CALL - Present on roll call were Scott Arnold, Pamela Lancaster, Doug Lanfear, Gary <br /> Quandt, Jane Richardson and Stephen Schuppan. Also present were County Attorney Jack <br /> Zitterkopf and Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka. , Karen Bredthauer was absent she was out of <br /> town. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW—Chairman Lancaster read the notice of open meeting law. <br /> REQUEST TO RESERVE TIME - Chairman Lancaster called for anyone who wanted to reserve <br /> time on a specific agenda item and no one responded. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION -The affidavit of publication was received. <br /> PRESENTATIONS — Lancaster read a statement and recognized Steve & Jill Hornady, Mayor <br /> Jensen, City Administrator Mr. Ferguson, past mayors Mr. Vavricek and Mr. Knadt, the Hero <br /> Flight Committee, the Airport Authority Board, Mike Olson Executive Director of the Airport and <br /> Doug Brown General Manager and Gary Quandt' s parents. Also the State Senators <br /> representing Hall County. <br /> THANK AIRPORT AUTHORITY FOR THE ASSISTANCE WITH THE VIETNAM VETERANS <br /> HOMECOMING — Lancaster presented a certificate and a statute to Mike Olson and Doug <br /> Brown. <br /> STEVE & JILL HORNADY PRESENTING "MATCHING FUNDS" FOR THE NEBRASKA <br /> GOVERNOR'S 150TH BIRTHDAY/COURTHOUSE CHALLENGE HONORING VETERANS <br /> Lancaster noted the Governors 150 challenge and she stated that Gary stated on the <br /> Courthouse for 160 hours for the Hero Flight Challenge. <br /> The Treasurer for the Hero flight reported that 75 donations of$15,243.58 and a total of <br /> $30,487.16 total with the matching funds from Jill and Steve Hornady. 17 veterans will be <br /> going on the trip Mr. Hornaday gave a brief statement. <br /> Dan Quick, Curt Friesen and Les Seiler gave brief statements thanking Gary and for the <br /> generous donation from Steve & Jill Hornady. <br /> Congressman Adrian Smith representative, Jared Reimers read a letter from Congressman <br /> Adrian Smith <br /> Mayor Jensen present appreciates being able be at the Airport to welcome the veterans. <br /> He noted how the community comes together <br /> 1 <br />
