10:50 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting <br /> 10:58 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION —Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 5. 9:30 A.M. MIDLAND AREA AGENCY ON AGING BUDGET- Lynn Viglicky, interim Executive <br /> Director and Theresa Engelhardt, executive director at Senior Citizens were present. They <br /> presented information to the board members. The annual membership for each person is <br /> $10,880.00, that is based on the 2010 census information and they are also requesting <br /> $19,125.00 to directly support the Senior Citizens Industries service programs the total request <br /> is $30,005.00. This is the same amount as last year. They reviewed some of the activities and <br /> programs. <br /> Lanfear made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the funding request for Midland Area <br /> Agency on Aging. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes <br /> and none voted no. Bredthauer was absent. Motion carried. <br /> Lanfear stated his mother had meals on wheels and it was a big help. Theresa also explained <br /> that they have a program that provides animal food for dogs or cats, treats and even beds. She <br /> invited the board members to come to the senior center for a meal when they serve chicken. <br /> Lancaster stated they will find a date and let her know. <br /> 6. MARK WILCOX WELLNESS PARTNERS PRESENTATION DISCUSS AND APPROVE <br /> WELLNESS PLAN —Schuppan stated that the insurance committee has met many times to <br /> discuss this proposal for a wellness plan for the county. At the last meeting the committee <br /> voted to recommend starting a wellness program. The committee recommended starting the <br /> program January 1, 2018 in order to get the information and educate the employees. This will <br /> also start with the new wellness deductible on the health insurance plan. The employees can <br /> use dollars out of the $500.00 or they could use a payroll deduction. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Lanfear seconded to offer the full wellness program to county <br /> employees. <br /> Mr. Wilcox stated that this will off a full screening program for the employees and all of the <br /> materials. When they receive the integration from the claims date then they can guide the <br /> employees to the appropriate type of care and they will be an advocate for the employees. This <br /> may also save claim dollars. <br /> Schuppan noted that Matt with Mid-American has worked with Wellness Partners. <br /> Richardson stated that as a member of the committee and she agrees that it will save dollars it <br /> may be hard to measure this at first. This is not mandatory but they hope people will see the <br /> benefit. <br /> Mark stated that if you can identify things before they happen it can save claim dollars. In the <br /> event it is necessary to have knee or back surgeries they can find contracts to save dollars. <br /> They try to find contracts that save dollars and provide the best high quality provider. <br /> 3 <br />
