RESOLUTION# ICs—0(p <br /> INTERSECTION STOP CONTROL ON STOLLEY PARK ROAD AT 90TH ROAD <br /> WHEREAS, in September of each year Husker Harvest Days is held on property located at 90th <br /> Road and Husker Highway; and <br /> WHEREAS,the event generates significant vehicular traffic in Hall County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Nebraska State Patrol, Hall County Sheriff, Nebraska Department of Roads, and <br /> Hall County Highway Department work together planning traffic control for the safe and efficient <br /> movement of traffic on the state highways and county roads that are impacted by Husker Harvest Days <br /> traffic;and <br /> WHEREAS, the traffic control measures in Resolution 2011-030 for Husker harvest Days <br /> Y <br /> included the: <br /> • designation of NO PARKING and the installation of NO PARKING signs, <br /> • installation of directional signs to US Hwy 30, <br /> • installation of WATCH FOR STOPPED CARS signs,and <br /> • the requirement for traffic on Stolley Park Road to stop when approaching 90th Road <br /> including the installation of STOP and STOP AHEAD signs; and <br /> WHEREAS, the traffic control planning committee recommended against the NO PARKING <br /> designation as unnecessary; and <br /> WHEREAS, the directional signs to <br /> g US Hwy 30 and the WATCH FOR STOPPED CARS signs <br /> do not require a resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, Neb. Rev. Stat. § 60-680 provides that local authorities can designate any <br /> intersection as a stop intersection; and <br /> WHEREAS, due to traffic patterns on 90th Road during Husker Harvest Days, it is desirable that <br /> both eastbound and westbound traffic on Stolley Park Road approaching 90th Road be required to stop <br /> during the event; and <br /> WHEREAS the Hall County Board deems it necessary in the interest of safety that both <br /> eastbound and westbound traffic on Stolley Park Road approaching 90th Road be required to stop during <br /> Husker Harvest Days. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this resolution supersedes resolution 2011-030. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IN FURTHER RESOLVED that during Husker Harvest Days both the <br /> eastbound and westbound vehicular traffic on Stolley Park Road shall be required to stop when <br /> approaching 90th Road. <br />
