HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING JULY 26, 2016 The Hall County Board of Supervisors convened July 12, 2016 by published call in the County Board meeting room, 121 South Pine, Grand Island. CALL TO ORDER -The meeting was called to order by Chairman Arnold INVOCATION- Invocation was given by Chairman Scott Arnold. ROLL CALL - Present on roll call were Scott Arnold, Pam Lancaster, Doug Lanfear, Gary Quandt and Jane Richardson. Dan Purdy and Steve Schuppan were absent. NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW--Chairman Arnold read the notice of open meeting law. VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION --Affidavit on file. REQUEST TO RESERVE TIME--Chairman Arnold asked if anyone would like to reserve time to address a specific agenda item and no one responded. RECOGNITION OF COUNTY EMPLOYEE FOR MILITARY SERVICE —Jane Richardson read the certificate of recognition for Wayne Gleason. He is an employee of public works department. Casey stated that Wayne has surveyed for many years and knows where all the section corners are in Hall County. He surveys all of the road department construction projects does the testing and quality control and monitors every aspect of the road department projects. He stated that Wayne started with a chain and compass but he knows how to use all of the latest equipment. Don Shuda stated that when the veterans visit the monuments in Washington, D.C. they have been fortunate to have the same drivers. Allen and Linda Black are both veterans and were present. Mr. Black stated that they were on their way to Colorado and stopped in Grand Island. Mayor Jensen and Marlon Fergusson presented the keys of the City to Mr. and Mrs. Black. Craig hand noted his experience on the trip and told how Mr. Black tells children to put their finger on a name on the wall and tell that person thank you. CONSENT AGENDA- Richardson made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the following by consent agenda. 1. Placed on file the minutes of the July 12, 2016 meeting 2. 7 Authorized the Chair to sign the 53-11 funding application for operating assistance for rural transportation in the amount of$,5,652 3. 7a Approved Resolution#16-045 Authorizing Hall County Public Transportation to apply for financial assistance and #16-048 For the agreement with Senior Citizens Industries for the operation of Hall County Public Transportation 4. 10 Placed on file the settlement of the Hall County Treasurer with the Hall County Board 5. 11 Regional Planning no items 6. 13 Placed on file the County Attorney Statistical report 7. 14 Placed on file the Hall County Treasurer's miscellaneous receipts 8. 15 Placed on file communications 9. 20 Set the bid opening for the 2016 2017 asphalt resurfacing Phase 1 for August 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. 1
