RECEIVE AND PLACE ON FILE HALL COUNTY FINANCIAL REPORT FOR YEAR <br /> ENDING JUNE 30, 2015— Purdy made a motion and Richardson seconded to receive and <br /> place on file the 2015 Hall County Financial report. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 6. DISCUSS AND APPROVE RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SALARY FOR PUBLIC <br /> DEFENDER FOR FOUR YEAR TERM BEGINNING JANUARY 5, 2017 -The audit committee <br /> met and Arnold stated they tried to follow the salary survey and stay consistent with it but with it <br /> is clear how inadequately the county attorney is paid. The public defender cannot be paid more <br /> than the county attorney. He also noted that there are not enough public defender positions in <br /> other counties to make a comparison. He wants to pay people according to the salary survey. <br /> Stacy Ruzicka noted that the public defender deputies are paid the same as the county attorney <br /> deputies. <br /> Schuppan stated that they need to look at the elected officials in 2019 it needs to be redone. <br /> In 2019 the county attorney would be paid about a 20% difference from the public defender. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve Resolution #15-075 to establish the <br /> salary for the public defender. <br /> Lancaster stated that it is important that people know this is the best effort for a difficult situation <br /> and there is a point when these adjustment will have to be made. She stated they looked at <br /> every possible way the salaries could be increased but there was not an answer. <br /> The vote on the motion to approve Resolution 15-075 was taken. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, <br /> Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 3 <br />
