Questioned if should let bids on oil road pro- jects to place on hold. Discussion followed. Motion by Frauen, seconded by Quandt to authorize Dan to let bids on upcoming oilrQad projects. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. Hartman reported on meeting he attended with Rural Fire Department representa- tives and Howard Maxon in regard to 300 foot tower for emergency relay. Esti- mated cost of $6000.00 to update the present equipment and asked if county would pay (half! and rural fire departments would raise the balance. Maxon is to write grants for the new tower. Requested County Board Assistant to check with County Attorney to see if County is allowed to do this. Frauen reported on Head Start meeting he attended in Abernethy's place. Abernethy reported on Criminal Justice Committee meeting Leslie reported there will be a meeting Thursday in regard to the air situation in County Administration building. Also reported on College Park insurance for Extension Offices. He will attended NIRMA insurance meeting in Lincoln on Friday. Quandt reported he attended Family Violence Coalition meeting. Wright attended College Park Open house and also attended budget hearing at Community College. Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant reported on (1) Cole Blackwell and moving of mobile home from court which has been sold (2) Leonard Graf called her about County's intention of selling the Weed/Extension office building on Stolley Park Road (3) Business Tele-Communications have completed the installation of phones in Administration building for offices under theuQxiginal contract, and County Clerk needs to send check which has been held.._~___! (4) Update information on voting panel for county board meeting room (5) need authorization for chairman to sign ~aiver on insurance for Public Officials insurance (6) has letter ready for signatures the board had requested be sent to Mary Dean Harvey, State Depart- ment Social Services. Motion by Abernethy, seconded by Frauen to authorize chairman to sign waiver for insurance as requested.
