<br />Chairman Landis questioned County Assessor as to buildings on Husker Harvest
<br />~ Day site on tax rolls or not and if they should not be. County Assessor
<br />to pursue this thru Chamber of Commerce, Farm Manager or operator of the
<br />show to see who owns the buildings as may be improvements on leased land.
<br />
<br />County Assessor gave some inIormation in regard to valuation to be used for
<br />county budget. She stated overall have lost 13 million valuation on central
<br />assessed properties. She now has an estimated valuation of $1,472,823,593.
<br />but this is not a final valuation yet. Needs some additional figures yet.
<br />
<br />Chairman Landis called 10 minute recess. Supervisor Leslie was excused from
<br />meeting at 3:00 P.M. to.attend a meeting on College Park.
<br />
<br />Returned to session and Supervisor Hartman gave report he had received from
<br />Public Works Director Hostler on the hours at Husker Harvest Days for water
<br />truck and employees. He gave hours of 73 1/2 hours last year. Has been a
<br />fee charges of $20.00 p~~nhq~Kfor water truck, recommends $25.00 per hour
<br />Motion by Hartman, !seconqe~ by Frauen to authorize Public Works Director
<br />to bill for $25.00 per hour for all services at Husker Harvest Days. On roll
<br />call vote Frauen, Hartman, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no,
<br />with Abernethy and Leslie absent. Motion carried.

<br />(1) Memo from County Attorney Ellen L. Totzke in regard to letter of Glendale
<br />Reiss dated August 6, 1992
<br />
<br />(2) Letter from Jack D . Mills, ~ecutiye. D!fi.re~~" of NACO in regard to the
<br />officers to be elected at annual convention rn Omaha in December. The
<br />Secretary-Treasurer is to elected from the Central District and requested
<br />nominations for any Board Member from the Central District.
<br />
<br />(3) Letter.from Beth Holthusen, Acting Region III Program Administrator in
<br />~gar~ito Region III Quoto System for Emergency Protective Custody program.
<br />
<br />(4) Notice from State Board of Equalization and Assessment in the matter of
<br />the valuation of Hall County for Tax Year 1992, findings and order for
<br />all residential property in Hall County be increased by 15.9 percent.
<br />
<br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Quandt to place on file communications received
<br />today. On roll call vote Frauen, Hartman, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes,
<br />none voted no, with Abernethy and Leslie absent. Motion carried.

<br />COMMITTEE REPORTS:
<br />
<br />Frauen reported on Visitor's Promotion meting he attended in Abernethy's place.
<br />and he will attend Head Start meeting today at 5:00 P.M. in Abernethy's absence.
<br />
<br />Uuandt questioned looking into an audit of Visitor's Promotion fund. Will have
<br />County Attorney check out before final decision is made.
<br />
<br />Discussion on an office for in depth audit this year.Will do differen~ag~f~~~r.
<br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Wright to authorize McDermott & Miller to do
<br />an in depth audit of Hall County Treasurer's office this year. On roll call
<br />vote Frauen, Hartman, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no, with
<br />Abernethy and Leslie absent. Motion carried.

<br />Ellen Merrill, County Board Assi~_tant reported had received 2 proposal for
<br />trimming trees at Courthouse~ . j Sheffield Tree Service trim 4 trees
<br />$275.00; and Grand Island Tree Service, topping & trimming of 4 trees $375.00
<br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Hartman to accept proposal of Sheffield Tree
<br />Service for $275.00 On roll call vote Frauen, Hartman, Quandt, Wright and
<br />Landis voted yes, none voted no, with Abernethy and Leslie absent. Motion
<br />carried.
<br />
<br />(2) Mr Rasmussen had requested visiting with Board Members about hike & bike
<br />trail and information on cost sharing. Board Members agreed to a 15
<br />minute presentation on the trail.
<br />(3) Voting Panel for Board room as to where to place it and also where cost
<br />should be paid from.
<br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Hartman to purchase the voting panel for $2825.00
<br />and pay from the miscellaneous line in Miscellaneous General budget. On roll
<br />call vote Frauen, Hartman, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none /voted no,
<br />with Abernethy and Leslie absent. Motion carried. --
<br />(4) Reminder of meeting with Senator Bill Barrett~~and he had requested some
<br />county concerns for discussion.
<br />(5) Open House at new Weed Control Authority building on Wednesday August 26,
<br />1992 from 9 to 5:00 p.m.
