(Board Members requested copy be sent to:~ County <br />Judges, District Judges, Public Defender and County Attorney. <br /> <br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Frauen to place on file the communications <br />received today. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, <br />Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br />Hartman reported on Weed Control Meeting held last night. Discussed was the <br />spraying of road ditches. They will spot spray roads but not spray all road <br />ditches. He also reported Mid Nebraska Services meeting. The budget request <br />for next budget year will remain at the 85 cents per capita. Will have another <br />meeting tonight. <br /> <br />Frauen reminded those Board Members who are not on Primary Election ballot <br />today will help pick up early pickup ballots today at 2:45 P.M. Will be <br />two people to a vehicle. <br /> <br />Abernethy reported on Visitors Bureau meeting, The Regional III Advisory <br />Committee on mental health meeting and she also attended the Goodwill Indust- <br />ries Open House. <br /> <br />Leslie reported on the AS/400 locations in County Court offices, and the <br />request to change the locations. They will contact the people in Lincoln <br />to check on the request. <br /> <br />Wright reported on the Weed Control Board meeting attended last night. <br /> <br />Landis reported on Tech Review meeting at Cornhusker Ordnance Plant and the <br />report of finding RDX north of plant. <br /> <br />Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant reported on the pay phone installation <br />at County Office Building. <br />Motion'by Frauen, seconded by Leslie to authorize Maxon to have installed <br />a pay phone at office building (County Attorney office building). On roll <br />call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, L~slie, Wright and Landis voted yes, <br />Quandt voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Board Assistant reported on the specs for sound system and voting system for <br />County Board room. <br />Motion by Wright, seconded by Quandt to obtain costs on <br />for use in County Board room. On roll call vote Abernethy, <br />Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. <br /> <br />voting system only <br />Frauen, Hartman, <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Hartman reported the trash problem is serious, there is more and more trash <br />being dumped on county roads and something needs to be done. <br />Following discussion, Board Members determined to have placed on agenda <br />the County Attorney, County Sheriff, and Betty Curtis of Clean Community System <br />so can discuss together what steps can be taken. <br /> <br />Abernethy reported some items from the Emergency Protection Custody Update <br />newsletter. She reported she will be leaving May 14th for Washington DC <br />for Juvenile meeting and will return on May 20th. <br /> <br />Chairperson Landis reminded members of the Property valuation protest hearings <br />to be held May 13, May 14 and May 15 and requires at least 5 Board members to <br />be present. <br /> <br />Chairperson adjourned the meeting at 11:20 A.M. Next meeting will be Tuesday <br />May 19, 1992 at 9:00 A.M. <br /> <br /> <br />
