~r Vc:?.,c- /37 Abernethy had copy of a proposal for hiring a consultant, if County Board decides to hire one, but she will have County Attorney review the proposal first. No action was taken today on the recommendation. --3 \,.. Elly Carrico, Clerk of District Court was present in regard to the steel beam that will be needed to support the floor in Courthouse in order to place the lektriever in her office. Board members requested she hold off ordering the lektriever until they find out the cost for supporting the floor. Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant reported on additional work reqeusted by County Court for county automation installation with estimated cost of $2400.00 Request was referred to Building & Grounds Committee for recommendation. Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant reported the Canteen Company had made a request to move vending machine on lower level of Administration building to different location and to place larger unit. (Board Members authorized Merrill to make recommendation for location) Board Assistant also reported NTV will have a live van for election returns May 12th and requested using the Administration Building roof if necessary to place equipment if needed. Discussion followed, with 3 members expressing no, and 4 had no problem with granting permission. Board Assistant to get more information and see what could be worked out. Dan Hostler, Public Works Director reported the committee recommends accepting the one bid received for maintenance overlay projects. Motion by Abernethy, seconded by Wright to acccept committee recommendation and accept bid of JIL Asphalt for total of $161,766.50 and authorize chair- person to sign contracts. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Letter of recommendation for appointment to Local Emergency Planning Committee that was read at last week's meeting needed action by County Board. Landis reported on the LEPC meeting she attended yesterday. Motion by Frauen, seconded by Hartman to accept the recommendation from the Committee to appoint Dedre Mack of the Red Cross to fill the vacancy on the committee. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no, Quandt abstained stating he did not know the person. Motion carried. Frauen asked for discussion on the storage of license plates now sitting in the hallway. Building & Grounds Committee to check out storage space and make recommendation for storage. Leslie reported he had attended the Soil Conservation Meeting in Kearney. Dan Hostler, Public Works Director reported someone had shot holes in windows of building on North Highway 281 sometime Sunday Night. Abernethy reported she had attended the Open House at Retardation Services Center last week. Hartman reported had received 3 bid proposals on air conditioners for Health Department building. Frymire Heaing & Air Conditio~ing $4333.00; Midwest Heating & Air Conditioning $6,710.00 and Myers Heat.1.ngH& Air Conditioning $4385.00 Motion by Hartman, seconded by Wright to accept the lowest proposal of Frymire Heating & Air Conditioning $4333.00 On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. County Clerk gave 2 copies of LBl063 to Board members to review as NACO office had requested them to read. Chairperson Landis adjourned the meeting at 11:12 A.M.
