Held a Board of Equalization meeting <br /> 9:12 a.m. Returned to the regular meeting. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION -- Chairman McFarland called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEY-- Chief Deputy County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf stated he wanted to <br /> update the board on the 3 recently purchased properties. The closing agent is requiring <br /> cashier's checks made payable to Grand Island Abstract. They are scheduled to close Friday <br /> November 21 at 1:00 p.m. <br /> Mr. Quandt questioned what the renters were to do and Mr. Zitterkopf stated that the rent will be <br /> prorated to the closing date and the one renter that will be leaving will pay for half a month. <br /> Mr. McFarland stated he talked to Mr. Zitterkopf concerning the one company and they asked if <br /> they could officially move on December 1st and Mr. McFarland authorized that date. There were <br /> issues because of the Thanksgiving holiday. <br /> County Assessor Jan Pelland requested that the board let her know when the property will be <br /> vacated and the part that will be occupied by the tenants will be on the tax roll as LB 271 <br /> properties. She will also need the areas that will be leased. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf stated that the 2 buildings on Sycamore are also vacant and Mr. Humphrey will <br /> have the utilities shut off and the water service will be capped. Ms. Pelland stated that the <br /> county will still have to pay the taxes. Mr. Schuppan stated that if the buildings are removed the <br /> county will still have to pay on the land. Mr. Arnold stated it is what the valuations would have <br /> been January 1St <br /> B) DISCUSS AND APPROVE RESOLUTION AND FINAL PLAT FOR SCHUP SUBDIVISION — <br /> Mr. Schuppan stated that this is the subdivision where he lives so he will need to abstain from <br /> voting. <br /> Purdy made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve Resolution #14-068 and final plat for <br /> Schup Subdivision. Arnold, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, and Ziola all voted yes and none voted <br /> no. Lancaster was absent. Schuppan abstained. Motion carried. <br /> 4 <br />
